Posture analysis
ROM tests
Functional screening tests
Discussion on findings
Plan of action
Possible first treatment - depending on findings.
(first treatment may not be possible if a condition is identified that needs medical attention, in this case I will refer you to an osteopath or GP for further investigation... You will be reimbursed for the remaining treatment time)
What does posture analysis involve?
-
Observation:
Looking at posture from different angles (anterior, posterior, and lateral) to assess alignment and symmetry.
-
Palpation:
Palpate (touch and feel) specific points on the body to assess muscle tension, joint movement, and other factors.
-
Gait analysis:
In some cases, posture analysis may include an assessment of how a person walks (gait) to identify movement patterns that may be contributing to postural problems.
What does ROM analysis involve?
-
Active, passive and resistance based range of movement testing:
We will test every part of the body, I will ask you to move a certain joint, then I will move it, then you will move while I add resistance. This will identify any weaknesses and imbalances.
-
Palpation:
Palpate (touch and feel) specific points on the body to assess muscle tension, joint movement, and other factors.
What does functional testing involve?
-
I will ask you to perform movements and record the results, we can use these findings to track progress later in your treatment plan.
-
Some tests will involve me gently moving joints to assess any movement that is restricted or movement that shouldn't be happening.

Exercise Therapy
Once our assessment is complete. I will write up a plan for exercises that will help to correct conditions and imbalances.
Depending on our plan of action you may need to attend the rehab gym 1-3 times a week and perform some 'homework' exercises.
The gym will only ever be one coach and 1 client, so no waiting for equipment and you get the full attention of your coach.
